Some of the readers of J. Peterson Garden Design may have noticed that I have not been posting quite as much in the last few weeks as I had been. Is this because I have lost interest in blogging? Or perhaps because I fell on a jobsite and broke my fingers? Or maybe my teenagers have been hogging the computer since I haven’t yet gotten them their own? Well, the last one is true, but mostly it’s on account of my virtual flitting around the country guest-posting on other sites! Here’s a rundown of my blogging shenanigans as of late:
- Shelterrific: This is an awesome lifestyle website that has recently published two articles of mine about gardening on a balcony. One article is on Flooring and Lighting for Outdoor Rooms, and the other is on Armchair Gardening. I’ll be continuing to write on this site about balcony gardening in particular, but also about other general gardening topics.
- All Outdoor Patio Furniture: This site is actually one in a “family” of sites featuring cedar structures, bridges and outdoor furniture, and Hazel Jennings asked me to write about how to choose what kind of garden structure you need. In return, their writer, Kathy Moran guest-posted on my site about incorporating bridges into the garden.
- Garden Designers Roundtable: I’ll be writing more about this group soon, but it’s a panel of professional garden and landscape designers who blog about various topics every month, and I have been invited to join it. I’m very excited to get crackin’ on it, but be sure to check out the site on Tuesday, February 22 for a roundtable discussion of Foliage in the Garden!
So you all probably know me better than to think I was slacking on you, but I just wanted to make sure you knew it. I’ve said it before, gardeners are some of the most generous people around, so I’m just doing my part to share the love! And, on a serious note, I have to say that it is very gratifying to be a part of an almost global community of gardeners and designers to exchange thoughts, techniques and processes–I feel inspired by them, and hope you do, too!
