So, if you’re less like Martha and more like me, most of your holiday decorating is done at the last minute and as something as an afterthought. But you still want it to look great, right? And you don’t want to spend $50 on it? Try this one:
Who doesn’t love Peeps, lemon drops and flowers? Yep, me too! If it’s not already evident what you need, here’s the list:
1 clear glass vase, either square or rectangular
1 clear glass votive holder
1 bunch of spring flowers
2 types of Easter candy (anything and Peeps works well. Make the bottom layer lemon drops, spring green peanut M & Ms, etc.), solid color.
Put the first layer of candy in the bottom (lemon drops here), then add the Peeps around the edge. It looks better if you only pull the Peeps apart when you need to, instead of separating each one. Now take your glass votive holder and nestle it in the center like this:
Add a bit of water, carefully, into the votive holder and place your flowers in. I think it looks best when you cut the stems so that the flowers just rest on the top of the vase.
Here’s a centerpiece that’s even easier, and no instructions are even necessary! Check it out:
Upside-down wine, margarita or martini glasses, covering a single vivid flower, and topped with a candle. Gorgeous.
Happy Easter from J. Peterson Garden Design!
