It’s the end of Fig-A-Palooza! We’re still gathering figs here in Austin so the fig cooking/baking will continue, but I wanted to share with you some final recipes to round out your file. One of these I’ve tried, and the others I just found and intend to try, but do let me know if you come across any other fig recipes that are tasty.
Fig Cocktail: I tried this one and do not have pics for it because it was a bit of a bomb. Not that it didn’t taste great–figs and vodka? Come on!–but we didn’t strain it enough, so it was very pulp-y and strange. It merits a repeat performance, though.
Cherry Fig Crumble: Great recipe from my friend, Shawna Coronado. She and her daughter made up the recipe and it looks divine, dahling.
Caramelized Figs with Lavender Honey and Cream: Just reading the name of this recipe nearly makes me weep. I have all the ingredients for it, and am going to try it this weekend! You know it’s going to be incredible.
Chocolate Mint Figs: Nothing more needs to be said, right?
Scrumptious Fig Squares: I haven’t tried this, but it sounds like a homemade Fig Newton, and I’m all about that.
Any more fig recipes that you know of or like? Ones you’ve made up yourselves? Send a link and I’ll post it!
